Every so often a picture comes out exactly the way you pictured it. The light is right, the outfit is right and it looks like you on a good day. Then a week later you want another one like it and cannot remember what you typed. A notebook fixes that, and it costs nothing but a minute each time.
Write down the words, not just the result
When a picture works, copy the description you used into a note on your phone or a document on your computer. Add a line saying what you liked about the result: the setting, the pose, the mood. The words are the recipe. Without them you are guessing every time you want the same feel again.
Group them by what they are for
Sort your notes into a few headings that match how you post: teasers, full sets, seasonal looks, the settings your regulars ask for. When you sit down to plan a week, you open the heading you need and start from something that has already worked, rather than from a blank box.
Change one thing at a time
Your notebook is also the quickest way to make variety that still looks like a set. Take a description that worked and change only the outfit, or only the room, or only the time of day. Because everything else stays the same, the new pictures sit naturally beside the old ones.
Note what did not work too
A short line under a description saying what went wrong is just as useful. If a certain word kept giving you the wrong colour, or a setting never quite looked real, writing it down stops you spending the same time on it again next month.
Keep it somewhere private
Your notebook is part of how you work, so keep it where only you can see it. Over a few months it becomes a record of your style, and it makes every new picture faster and more like you.
