Two of them are companion apps, centred on chatting with AI characters. The third is a photo tool for creators who want pictures of themselves. This comparison sets out what each one says it does, based on their own websites as of October 2026, so you can choose the one that fits. Candy AI: a companion app
Candy AI, at candy.ai, is run by EverAI Limited, a company based in Malta. Its website describes it as an AI girlfriend app for creating personalised virtual companions, with chat, voice, image generation and video.
The characters are AI made. You can design your own companion by choosing things like ethnicity, hairstyle, eye colour, voice and personality. We found no option on its website to upload your own photos and train a character on your face.
On pricing, the website lists a free trial and monthly, quarterly and yearly plans, each including a batch of tokens for chat, voice, images and video, with top ups available. When we looked, the homepage did not show the prices themselves, so you would need to check inside the app.
That makes Candy AI a natural fit for people who want an ongoing relationship with a character they have designed.
ourdream.ai: a roleplay and companion platform
ourdream.ai is run by Dream Studio USA, Inc. It describes itself as an AI roleplay and companion platform, where you chat with AI characters, generate images and video, and make voice calls. You can build a companion by choosing its look, personality and voice, and many characters on the site are made by other users.
Its FAQ says it focuses on original AI characters rather than replicating real people, and it bans deepfakes and lookalikes of real people. That is a sensible rule. It also means the platform is built around invented characters, not pictures of you.
Its FAQ lists two plans: a yearly plan at $9.99 a month, billed as $119.88 up front, and a monthly plan at $19.99. Both include unlimited messages, image and video generation and 1,000 dreamcoins a month. Prices are in US dollars.
KinkAI: photos of you
KinkAI is built for a different job. It is not a chat app and has no companions. It learns your face and body from 10 to 20 photos of yourself, or of a persona you have invented, never any other real person, and then makes new photo sets of that person whenever you ask. Training is free and takes about half an hour.
Every picture has three levels: clothed for 1 Kredit, topless for 2 and naked for 3. Topless and naked open after a one-time ID check with Didit, which confirms you are 18 or over. Because the model is trained on one person, the same face and body appear in every picture. That consistency is what lets a creator build a recognisable feed over weeks and months.
The real difference: who is in the picture
The biggest difference is not price or features. It is who the pictures show. On a companion app, the pictures show an AI character, which is perfect if you want a virtual partner to talk to. On KinkAI, the pictures show you, or your own invented persona, which is what a creator needs when fans are subscribing to a real person.
If you sell content as yourself, pictures of a different character are not much use to you. If you want conversation and a character to interact with, a photo tool is not much use either.
There is also a question of rules. ourdream.ai's FAQ says it bans lookalikes of real people, which fits a platform built on invented characters. KinkAI takes a different route to the same goal: you may only train on yourself or an invented persona, so every picture shows someone who has agreed to be in it.
How you pay
Candy AI and ourdream.ai both use subscription plans with monthly allowances of tokens or coins. KinkAI has no subscription at all. Neither model is wrong. A subscription can suit someone who uses an app most days, while pay per photo suits a creator whose output goes up and down from week to week.
Privacy and rules
On KinkAI, everything is private to your account. Nothing is published or shared, and your photos are never used to train anyone else's model.
